The screen has a sharper picture because it has 326ppl instead of 264ppi. It also has double the ram at 2gb and 50% more processor speed. The camera Is rated at 8mp compared to 5 on the iPad 3. So, you can see that the newer ipad 4 has a lot going for it in terms of improved specification. It comes down to personal choice as to whether you prefer the 1.8 inch smaller screen.
